Achimota In 1958, the IMC met in Achimota near Accra, Ghana, and debated a proposal to unite with the World Council of Churches, with which it shared several programmes and enertained intensive relations. The proposal was accepted by a great majority, while certain theologically more conservative mission councils refused to integrate mission and church. They wanted to preserve missionary freedom, and not become dependant on ecclesiastical authorities and agendas. | |
